Success at Failing
(in the "Standard" 14-line Sonnet style)
We say Iran’s economy is no damn good,
precisely what for fifty years we’ve sought.
We’ve damaged them in every way we thought we could,
preventing some of what they sold and bought.
Which begs the question: Who else in the neighborhood
does things like us that always come to naught?
“The world has never witnessed such a thing before,”
Trump and his Toadies toot their horns obscene.
Not even in old texts of long-forgotten lore
do we Truth from such naked worship glean.
So, saying none have seen a narcissistic bore
suggests that one denies the clearly seen.
No one can say that they’ve seen all the world contains,
and those who do should cease repeating dumb refrains.
Two broken arms from patting himself on the back.
From tooting his own horn, two blistered lips.
There seems to be no cheap technique Trump doesn’t lack
resorting, as he does, to worn out quips.
At Trump’s bankrupt casinos he was known to stack
on tilted tables, piles of worthless chips.
Trump has, for foreign policy, sent overseas
just two: a son-in-law and crony friend,
both raised in Zionism’s New York City sleaze.
No law that Jared, Steve and Trump won’t bend
for Israel, the God they truly aim to please,
while far beneath them J. D. Vance is penned.
America’s Vice President can cogitate
alone, while Trump and his Twin Toadies bloviate.
“Trump’s ‘envoys,’ Steve and Jared, can with us converse,”
the Russians say: “Try Moscow in the Spring.”
Maybe they cannot make negotiations worse,
but ‘doing better,’ that’s another thing.
Receiving guests like them might seem a bit perverse.
“It’s quite another matter what they bring.”
So, ‘talk while fighting’ seems to be the Russian way,
as with Iran. No one trusts Donald Trump.
Should he say something truthful, that will be the day
that gas sells for a dollar at the pump
while citizens hope that their prayers can keep away
those things that in the dark of night go “Bump!”
Perhaps a U. S. “government” could end dumb war,
but not 'till those like Donald Trump are shown the door.
